Tables are a thing of beauty, especially for those with a type-A personality who have a penchant for organizing and decluttering. Perfectly aligned columns and rows make data easy to read and interpret.
Plus they can serve a variety of purposes when used in posts or pages. A table can be use to display inventories, schedules, test scores, addresses, sports statistics, shipping costs, office birthdays and so much more. Wouldn’t it be great to add tables with WordPress?
We agree. But since tables aren’t built into WordPress using a plugin is your best bet. Luckily there are a ton of awesome free and premium options so we thought we’d share some of our favorites with you.
There are thousands of options avaialbe when you use a search engine to find the “best table WordPress plugins.” You don’t have time to sort through those. Here’s a concise list of our favorites (in no particular order).

Tried and true, TablePress is a great free option for creating tables for your posts and pages. TablePress is an easy and popular way to create tables for your data.
The plugin includes an easy to use interface built much like a standard spreadsheet. Just add your data (including formulas) to rows and columns, using built-in options to set a title, header or footer row, pagination and more. TablePress even allows you to import (or export) from Excel, CSV, HTML or JSON for more flexibility.
When you’re done you can use the generated shortcode to insert your tables anywhere. Posts, pages, widgets – pretty much anywhere you want. The free version also supports custom CSS styling, so you can edit row colors, fonts, cell sizing and more. Plus there are a handful of premium extensions you can use for added functionality like filters, responsive layouts, ordering and even integration with Divi.
wpDataTables is one of the best selling premium WordPress table plugins available. Why? Because it’s a powerful plugin with the ability to aggregate and display data as tables, charts and graphs. Plus it supports large data sets, offers easy front or back end editing of tables or charts, includes built-in formula support, is compatible with the popular WPBakery Visual Composer plugin, Elementor page builder and more.
wpDataTables is fully responsive, ensuring your data tables can be viewed in all their glory from any device. Your data tables can be built and managed entirely from within the WordPress dashboard, and the plugin supports four data sources: Excel (including CSV files), MySQL query, XML, or JSON.
With the plugin supporting sophisticated data tables – they can run for thousands of rows – it can get a little complicated to use, but wpDataTables includes comprehensive documentation to help you get the most from the plugin’s features. You can also customize your tables by selecting fonts and colors, select skin for each table and many more. A great plugin for an underserved function.
3. wpDataTables Lite
Want to try wpDataTables for free? Try wpDataTables Lite! While it doesn’t include all the awesome features as the premium version, it does offer easy to use table building. This includes page builder compatibility, responsive mode, font options, star ratings, import from document (CSV, JSON, XML, Excel or PHP array) and export to document options. It’s a great way to try wpDataTables!
With Visualizer by ThemeIsle you can easily build advanced tables for your WordPress site. But that’s not all – it’s also an excellent way to visualize data via charts, graphs, timelines and other data displays.
With the plugin installed you can import your data from a variety of sources. So whether you want to use your database, url, API or simply enter information yourself you certainly can. There’s also an option to setup syncing for automatic table updates. As for table creation there are built-in options for on-page editing, private tables and charts (using permissions), filters, pagination, ordering, instant search and even prestyled templates to choose from.
Tablesome is a free WordPress table plugin to quickly create responsive and feature-rich tables. Tables are responsive especially on mobile devices and look great on all screen sizes. You can customize table layouts and style. Datatables can have data in multiple formats such as Text, Rich-text, Email, Number, Date & Time, Link, Checkbox and Buttons. You can import and export files generated from sources such as Google Sheets, MS Excel, etc.
The core plugin is free, but you can upgrade to the premium version (starting at $38/yr) for more features. This unlocks awesome options for call to action buttons, filters, checkbox columns, more export options, reordering and duplicate table or rows.
6. Ninja Tables
Ninja Tables is a handy free plugin that makes adding tables to you site easy. The plugin supports 100+ table styles, ajaxed features, mobile responsive support, configuration options (for columns or data type), plus import and export options. There are even unlimited color options, so you can design anything from a muted grayscale to a candy colored rainbow of rows.
There is also a premium version available for live connect to Google Sheets, WooCommerce integration, custom post types support, conditional column formatting, frontend editing and much more.
7. WP Table Builder
For a free option try the WP Table Builder WordPress plugin. This plugin adds a table builder with 7 elements you can use to display your data in cells including text, image, list, button, star rating, HTML and shortcodes. WP Table Builder makes creating and managing your tables easier for sure!
8. Superb WordPress Tables
Design responsive and SEO friendly tables with Superb WordPress Tables. This free plugin offers options to create unlimited tables all with proper schema markup micro data. As for design there are options to choose a color scheme or use your WordPress theme’s design. And the auto-generated shortcodes make it easy to insert your tables where you want them.
9. WooCommerce Product Table
Tables can be used to display all types of WordPress data, even from your custom post types. And when it comes to WooCommerce you can’t do better than the WooCommerce Product Table add-on by Barn2. The plugin makes it easy to define your table content, columns and rows, images, add to cart button, product variations and more. You can also add search, sort, filter and display based on product category, tag or ID. And there are tons of useful integrations with third party plugins.
Why would you want to use tables in your WooCommerce store? We’ll there are lots of reasons. You might want to create a quick one-page order form (especially helpful if your products work together), a useful menu for your restaurant, or a filterable product catalogue.
10. Table Addons for Elementor
Love the Elementor page builder but wish you could add tables? That’s where the Table Addons for Elementor comes in! This free plugin adds a new block to create tables on your posts and pages.
While simple, key features you need for table columns and rows are all there. Along with Elementor styling options to design your table to match the rest of your site.
11. Easy Tables for WPBakery
The easy tables plugin is specifically developed for the WPBakery Page Builder Plugin (formerly known as Visual Composer). This allows you to add tables to your posts and pages via the page builder without having to access a separate admin dashboard. If you like working with WPBakery this can make things a lot easier when managing tables on your site.
Notable features include a familiar spreadsheet interface, bulk editing and easy WYSIWYG tools to edit the look of your tables. Plus there are 12 visual themes you can choose from for even faster styling.
12. Data Tables Generator
